The 2022 Newmar Bay Star Sport Class A gas motorhome has been transformed with a planned life cycle change that includes redesigned front and rear caps, new exterior, and interior color schemes. The 2022 Bay Star Sport is available in 27 to 33 ft. floor plans exclusively on a Ford® F-53 20,500 lbs. through 22,000 lbs. chassis. All 2022 Bay Star Sports are equipped with a 7.3-liter 350 HP gasoline engine. The Ford TorqShift 6-Speed automatic transmission offers double overdrive functionality complementing the gas engine. The Bay Star Sport is constructed with a one-piece “BriteTEK™ “walkable roof,” and 5/8” foam insulation in sidewalls and ceiling as standard. Home construction techniques like vertical studs every 16” on-center are found in aluminum-frame sidewalls and roof construction.

The 2022 Bay Star Sport is presented in three all-new Full-Masterpiece Finish™ paint schemes, each with Clearcoat finish. The full complement of exterior color schemes includes “Mercato,” “Stealth” and “Teton.”

New Highlights for 2022 Bay Star Sport by Newmar
View new 2022 Newmar Bay Star Sport Class A gas motorhome features and highlighted upgrades.
- The Bay Star Sport has a complete life cycle change featuring re-designed front/rear caps, fenders, exterior paint colors/schemes, and new interior décor and features.
- A new 33 ft. floor plan (3316) is being introduced in 2022. This is a triple-slide plan with two slides in the front living area, and a slide in the rear bedroom on the driver’s side. The living room features opposing sofas with 74” Comfort Lounge (jackknife) sofa on the driver’s side, and the 68” Comfort Lounge (jackknife) sofa will now be located on the passenger’s side in front of the LED television on a “Televator.” A standard dinette on the passenger’s side and the rear Master Suite offers a folding king-size mattress, and a rear bath.
- Bedroom slides on the 2702 and 3226 floor plans are 2-inches deeper, providing more walk-through space at the foot of the bed.
- The Bay Star Sport 3226 model has a slightly larger pantry than in prior year models.
- The Bay Star Sport 3226 model will feature the 22,000 lbs. GVWR Ford Chassis.
- The Bay Star Sport 3315 floor plan will have a shorter wheelbase for improved weight distribution between front and rear axles.
- Baggage doors, door frames and basement compartments are approximately 3” taller due to a reduction in ground clearance which will still be sufficient for road traveling purposes. The floor height from the ground has not changed.
- A new dash design and an additional ABS dash color (Natural) is available. Built into the design is a wireless phone charger near the driver’s seat.
- The optional dash radio features a new 10” monitor positioned above the dash line combines the radio and monitor screen in one unit. This monitor system does not provide a navigation system, but it includes a USB input to allow navigation to be displayed from a personal device, i.e., a cell phone.
- There is a new option for a power driver’s seat.
- The Winegard® Ranger Wi-Fi option has been retained for 2022, but the Winegard cellular in-motion option is no longer available.
- An A/V port provision is available in the 2022 Bay Star Sport in the event an owner wishes to install A/V equipment post-purchase.
- Three new interior decoration packages encompassing new flooring, slide-out fascia styling, window treatments, kitchen backsplash, dinette chair design, cabinet door/hardware, countertop edge design, new plumbing fixtures, kitchen and bath sink faucets, new style of shower system, and bedding style have been introduced this model year. The three new décor packages are entitled “Mercato,” “Stealth,” and “Teton.”
- The ABS surround of the bathroom shower has a new look. Additionally, new clear glass shower door is standard, but unavailable in radius showers.
- The height of the bottom of the kitchen cabinets has been raised to 18.5” above the kitchen countertop, resulting in a slightly taller backsplash.
- The standard or optional kitchen window will be taller as a result of the cabinet height adjustment.
- All bedrooms offer new headboard style, and base cabinets have been added to the nightstands.
- New sofa and cockpit seat styling by Williamsburg.
- The Williamsburg Comfort Lounge (jackknife) sofa will be standard feature and the Williamsburg Visionary Tri-fold sofa will be the optional sofa/sleeper in select floor plans.
- The standard booth dinette will be a new upholstered booth dinette/sleeper from Williamsburg. There is a new design for the optional euro dinette.
- The kitchens feature a Suburban® brands gas oven and cooktop.
- A new option for Bay Star Sport floor plan 3226 is a larger Norcold® 12 cu. ft. refrigerator with icemaker.
- The basement compartment containing the wet bay on the 2022 Bay Star Sport will feature a new water works panel.
